''The Beatles Bootleg Recordings 1963'' is a compilation album of 59 recordings by The Beatles, released on 17 December 2013, exclusively through the iTunes Store, initially appearing to have only been available for a few hours. The album is currently available again for purchase.〔(The Beatles Bootleg Recordings 1963 at iTunes )〕 The compilation was released worldwide in order to prevent the recordings on the album from legally entering the public domain in Europe due to revised copyright laws.〔 Officially unreleased recordings from the band's 1962 recording sessions, including outtakes from the Beatles' first single, "Love Me Do", previously entered public domain in 2012. ==Composition== ''The Beatles Bootleg Recordings 1963'' includes 15 studio outtakes and 44 live BBC tracks, which are alternate versions of those released on the albums ''Live at the BBC'' (1994) and ''On Air – Live at the BBC Volume 2'' (2013). None of these selections were included in the other two compilations though, so all of these are new to the world of legitimate releases. The album also includes John Lennon's demo recordings of "Bad to Me" and "I'm in Love", later released as singles by Billy J. Kramer and the Dakotas and The Fourmost, respectively.〔 Tracks 1-14 are stereo, the remainder are mono.
